I just want to say that none of the things I said meant to be hateful either. If you were here with me, you would see that I am quite laid back, my tone is neutral and most of the time Im smiling. :D

I believe you mean Athiest, when you strongly believe ther is no God. Agnostic is more like being inbetween religions, not sure, still having some hope that there is a superior power behind it all.Originally posted by GearTripper
maybe i meant that other word... where's my damn dictionary. what is it when you don't believe in religion? cause that's what i am.

Aurora, nice post.
Don't know if it is sad, cause it is very common, and the person that holds the belief, well, believes it is right, and thus cause they are doing right, makes them happy.
Fear, is generally an aniticipation of pain, not a reality. Perhaps the sadness part comes in it leads to behaviors of avoidance in decision making, in reference to almost all life choices.
And that ends up usually, yet, not always being one of those balls and chain deals in life.
Just a few thoughts.
Good Day Too All

born into the catholic church and confirmed catholic. Both my parents were catholic and my mom got saved about 8 years ago. She tried very hard to get me saved but I believe it just pushed me away from religion with revivals she dragged me too. Ex: BENNY HINN. Wow, what a whacko. I'm sorry but that guy really annoys me. I believe religion shouldn't forced onto somebody. I do believe in trying to bring a child up into the church and then let him decide what he wants to do with it. But my mom being saved and being catholic at the same time is an interesting blend because she's keeping the sacrements of the religion faithfully. As for me though, I don't know what to believe in, I'd rather believe in Darwinism/Evolution probably because the life that was trying to be forced upon me. I even gave up a year of public high school to go to a christian school and I tell you that the city the time I lived in, Albuquerque, everybody sent the bad rejected public school kids there. I could have gotten laid through all 4 grade levels of high school there because all the chicks were easy. But I was only there for one and I gladly left that hellhole.
There are so many questions that arise where religion and science both prove and disprove each other. I'd hate to think that when the end of the world comes, aka armageddon, or whatever the christian's say will come, I shiver at the thought of myself harvesting the bad seeds I have sown as I mean to finally believe in God when THAT time comes, as the bible would say. Even though I have biblical knowledge yet I choose not to believe in it.

I wish I had to ability to have "blind faith", but unfortunately I do not. I really wish I could just accept a Higher Power with nothing more to go on but fabulous stories, but I do not. When you think about it, its easier to believe in Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny. You get gifts and get candy, some sort of physical evidence that these beings could exist. But with religion, you just have to believe, while every stretch of common sense tells you not too. Evolution tells you no way, constant revisions and mandates of organized religion tell you no way, failure to accept that certain lifestyles are not chosen, but predetermined in a genetic code, tells you no way, cloning tells you no way, etc.

Christian of course....If you see the avatar....
The problem so many come across when it comes to God & Jesus is they try to live by a religion.Religion is man trying to reach God, which is not God's design.
God came to us through his son Jesus to have a relationship.i.e.(a one on one loving fellowship), He Loves us just as a father loves his children.
He created us ,were on God's terms not the other way around ,HIS rules, not to be strict, his commandments and guidence,i.e.(the bible) are to benefit and protect and to get closer to knowing him.
No one should read the bible in fear, but with the attitude of love,God loves us and is showing the way to go.
He made it so easy through his son.

I don't classify myself as anything as I tend to avoid labels.
I was raised catholic, but "saw the light" very quickly as I get older and more educated. I simply cannot believe and accept something that is not tangible, just because man says I should. It is not within my capability to do that. I have got to have clear cut proof. Same goes for any situation such as people being accused of crimes. Until there is sufficient hard evidence, you simply cannot go on someone's word that the person committed the crime.

life is made possible by a chance occurence of the right chemicals being together at the right time. life is nothing more than a series of chemical reactions - sorry, but that's just the way it is.
there is no god, no devil. besides, if there was a god, and god is perfect - why did he create the universe? a perfect being has no need to create anything - he needs no food, no entertainment, nothing. the creation of something implies an imperfection in being.

My life ran closely parallel with stonecolds. I love trying to understand why people believe the things they do. I think most believe in religions for comfort. I was raised southern baptist and it was very comfortable knowing all the answers to life but as I got older I came to the conclusion I was just fooling myself. I call myself a deist but then I wonder if I'm still just fooling myself.
- I'll go with Agnostic
Saying that God created the universe and that God just exists, implies that not everything has to have a creator.
Perhaps the universe just exists
