How long would it take for the guy to get here? I live in a small city in canada, how much would it cost? Probably alot, and it would take forever to get his ass here. If there was a dell store where I live that I could go to for repairs etc, then I would buy a dell.

I have shaw high speed internet cable connection on this old computer so im going to get the best there is on my new comp.

Thanks guys for explaining the GHZ thing to me, it makes me feel better.:)

I want to be able to walk into a store, give the guy my comp and give him cash to upgrade it or fix it if necassary. None of these places work with dells, dells are kind of on their own, and the only way to do anything is over the phone which I dont like.

I like having a store with face to face service.

For a laptop, the IBM Thinkpad A-series is hard to beat.

Well boys and girls, im getting a dell.:) You guys helped me decide. I have been reading all the stats of different computers and dell is always better no matter what.

                              2 quick questions.....

Im going to ask the dell guy everything, but do you guys know if you get any CDs or disks to fix your computer if something goes wrong? Just wondering.

And when I get a dell, can I get any local computer service to connect me to the internet, or does it have to be dell?

                              Thanks alot.

Dell usually providesa "restore" CD that will allow you to re-install the default Dell Windows installation w/drivers. If the system also comes with MS Office XP, you'll get full CDs for those.

Oh, you're in Canada? Dell Canada may still be providing a full Windows XP CD, in addition to the restore image.

You'll be able to connect just like you do now with your present system. Are you on dial-up, DSL, or Cable?

(I still think IBM Thinkpads are the class act for laptop systems...)
