  • Well I finally bit the bullet and got one...

...a cell phone that is. My wife begged and begged me for about a year. I just hate the "Status" that goes along with them. People annoy me on them and I wouldn't get one on principle. And I can't stand people who I meet from personal reasons or business who ask "So whats your cell number?" and then look at me crosseyed like i have 3 heads when I say we didn't have one. and then the stupid sales man gives me this worried speech about that if I go over my minutes its VERY expensive. so I ask him how many I get and he says 500. I almost fell on the floor laughing and felt like telling him if I go over 500 minutes in a month then I will name my first born after him. What a douche bag. He told me that averages 15 minutes a day. I am not on the phone more than about 5min per week anyway. Well that is my rant. I will still stomp people that have phones in quiet places. I love my job now because we get to confiscate them if they ring in our building and the people don't get them back.

      hello and welcome to 1994.

500 minutes is about what I use per month. I used 720 minutes last month because of the move and I was doing alot on the go. I need my cell to talk to my clients also. Plus my whole family is out of state. Alctually now I have voice over ip phone service threw the cable company and long distance is free from home.

I know! AT least he didn't say he finally upgraded from the Zach Morris 1989 cell phone.

I use my cell phone as my home phone as well. I go through about 400 mins a month doing that. My plan is for 1200 mins a month and I pay lees than what I was for 500 from Sprint.

I understand talking for work purposes but I just can't see that there is that much to talk about in the world, lol.

Give it time brother. Once you have it, it'll become so convient you'll just be using it all the time to call your lady, etc. I used to think the same way you do.

hey Bouncer do u only pay $50 or with taxes like $56 or so. I saw the same deal at the mall with a friend, 1000 minutes, free nights and weekends, nationwide, etc for $50.

I got a boost right now for $1.50 a day of free radio and a Cingular Cell that expires on October. Was thinking of going Nextel and that 50dollar plan.

I did used to have one and it was a nightmare, lol. I am one of those people who don't like to be accesible. But I guess the only good thing is that i get a 20% discount on the bill because of who I work for.

Same plan I got, but when I got it they gave 200 bonus minutes for 1 year.

Juice, mine comes to like $60 after taxes and text messages.

I don't have a landline either....it just doesn't make sense not to have one these days....if you don't talk on the phone much like me, then you can get a cheap plan thats less expensive than a land line and you have free long distance from wherever you are. And, you have voice mail. I'm single and this is the best option for me. Plus, my company pays for it, because I use it mainly for work related issues.
I can relate to you SC on the fact that people seem to be so enamored with those stupid little things like they are gold or something. People go around thinking they are almost more powerful talking on them. I went into the Nextel store to shop for a new phone recently, and there were all these morons hanging out in there like it was the local bar, playing with cell phones. What a bunch of pathetic douche bags.

I feel the same way about cell phones. I refuse to get one. My girlfriend along with all my friends are constantly on my case about not having one. I thought I was the only person on earth who did not have one. But now you got one, so I guess I am the only one. :D

sounds good. Im being charged 10 cents per text on mine, not even worth it. I dont even text people but when people text me i reply. I basically pay 56 for mine, might as well go nextel on October.

Do any of u all have Boost radio. Just got one, its alright.
