Glock vs Ruger?

Sorry, sometimes I slip on termonology. I gun guru would rip into a person for calling a magazine a clip. A clip is something you use in a rifle, not a handgun.

Anyway, yes, I was talking about a mag, not a clip.

If you were to take those precautions every single night, then I think it would be ok, but, after a while, you will think, "What are the odds? I think I will just skip tking the lock off tonight." Then it becomes habit not to take it off.

haha yes i was gonna rip you. i was tellin yellow jacket a few months back that when i got my first gun about 15-20 years ago i went to the shop for a extra mag. but asked the old timer for a extra clip. he then sat me down and explained the difference. it will stay with me forever and i will always let people know its a mag.

on another not shibby i think the gun lock is no good cuzz you will get lazy and not put in on or not take it off. if you went with a shot gun witch i would for home defence. i cant see a lil kid figure out how to take the safty off them pump a round in then squeez the trigger especialy after you let him know its off limits. handguns (autos)there is no way hes even strong enough to pull the slide back. or even figure out how. revolver i wouldnt trust around any kid way to easy to go off by accident

Good info. However, Glock does make three different models chambered for .357 magnum including a subcompact (model 33) so you are not limited to revolvers for that caliber. Too much gun for most women I think though.

I like the .40 cal myself. The recoil is manageable even for a woman and it has more energy than the 9 mm. 10 mm is too much gun for most women and while Glock does have a subcompact 10 mm (model 29), the smaller and lighter the gun, the more that recoil will be felt.

Glocks and Sig Saur are the gold standards for automatic pistols. Sigs will run you about $100 more than the glocks though. Also, I got a Glock mod. 22 (.40 cal) not too long ago and have found it points and shoots much differently than other pistols I have had. I can't hit the broad side of a barn with it frankly. I am going to practice some more with it and if I can't get the hang of it, I will trade it in for something else.

Sorry but that's wrong. Glock makes pistols chambered in .357 Sig not .357 magnum. The two cartridges are VERY different.

After much studying and discussion, i've decided on the H&K P2000. It's almost subcompact size and the grip is adjustable. And it comes with many of the features shared with the socom.

I have the Ruger P89 (i think) 9mm and Love it! I bought it from a gun shop in Myrtle Beach while a Ruger rep was there (my lucky day). I got the 9, two clips, and a hard lockable case for $289.
