Glock vs Ruger?

Sorry but that's wrong. Glock makes pistols chambered in .357 Sig not .357 magnum. The two cartridges are VERY different.

Just went to their website and found this:

"The recent introduction of the .357 caliber GLOCKS created a whole series of GLOCK pistols that offer ammunition performance rivaling or exceeding the legendary .357 Magnum."

Now, they don't actually say it is .357 magnum OR .357 Sig. They just list the caliber as .357. However, since no one could say (with a straight face) that .357 Sig rivals or exceeds .357 magnum in terms of performance (energy and knock down power), I assumed they were talking about .357 magnum.

The velocities of the two calibers may be similar but the smaller .357 Sig (125 grain vs. 158 grain for the magnum) packs about 100 ft-lbs less energy at the muzzle.

Also, I am pretty sure I have seen .357 magnum glocks in stores and at gun shows.

Also, the .357 and .40 s&w glocks are interchangeable. If you have the .40 S&W glock 22, it can use the barrel of the .357 glock 31 and vice versa. So you can always upgrade if you feel the need to.

Did you see the photo of the two rounds in question? Glock has NEVER offered a pistol in .357 Magnum. The magazine and grip would be ridiculous as would the nightmare of trying to cycle that long and skinny ass round.

There is no such thing as an auto .357 magnum. This is why it is understood among knowledgable gun enthusiasts that when you say a .357 and are speaking of autos, it's auotmatically a .357 Sig.

I agree with Spidey though about the magnum. The .357 Sig round is def one of the highest velocity rounds in auto, but, I don't think it matches the energy of the magnum.

The magnum round is made for revolvers. The sig round is for semi-auto's.

So I was thinking about the shotgun last night laying in bed and the whole gun lock thing. Then while stareing at the wall, I thought I could just get a wall mounted gun rack. Then I don't have to worry about a lock and all that, because he could never get to it.

I have owned a S&W .357 magnum and I'm also familiar with the .357 Sig so I don't need pictures to tell the difference, LOL.

Maybe you're right. The magnum is a long shell. Isn't the 10 mm round a long round too? Glocks don't have a problem cycling those.

I could be mistaken, Maybe it was another automatic; Desert Eagle maybe. I have seen DE's in 44 mag., .50, and .357 mag.
