I may in the minority here but I didn't really see what's so egregiously offensive about SOS's postings. I think that the public excoriation of SOS is rather unseemly and not in keeping with the spirit of this board, as laid out in items 1 and 2 of Sana's post below:

I had a long ass reply to this thread running through my mind all weekend (yardwork makes me think about wierd shit) about how this was just wrong. Then I found the thread locked and gave up on the idea.

Either way, I don't have to say if I agree or disagree with Slayer's posts, threads or any other information he contributes to the board but I was going to defend his position as a member just like anyone else.

I gotta say though, Slayer you didn't impress me with your lack utter lack of defense. If you really gave a shit about all of your ideas I at least thought you would defend your rights to be a part of the board as long as you didn't break the rules.

Actually, I thought his first response (message #2 in the thread) was classy and showed more restraint than most people would show given the tone of post #1. Kudos to him for not taking the bait.

I don't think it was exactly the response that bothered me. I was actually sitting here watching the thread evolve that morning and Slayer immediately removed his signature and avatar (all within minutes of his first response). After that he has shyed away from the board like a wounded puppy. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt though.

It seemed to me that all this crap could have been handled through pm's. Instead ST has to call him out and call him names. Maybe ST had to do this to make himself feel better. I don't know. What I do know though is that when someone calls someone else out there is usually a bandwagon affect. And since Slayer was the new guy, I imagine he felt that bandwagon on his back and didn't want to waste his time defending himself. Who knows? All I can tell ya is that I thought he was a good guy!

I did not start the thread to initiate a bandwagon flaming, and there never was one. There was a single other person (go Yankees) who expressed a similar reaction to me. However, there are other people who have expressed the same thoughts to me via PM regarding the quality of slayers posts.

Now while you can all express your great horror that I decided to make this post public rather than PM, let me express that this was done intentionally. I believe that the character of this forum valued quality and legitimacy, rather than how nice or classy you are.

That is just fine. You have no business doing it in the first place if you are going to make this type of generalized post. While you continue to preach about peace and compassion via the internet, the rest of us will be making progress in the gym.
Perhaps stick to worrying about whether or not to grow your hair out, or to frost the tips, and leave the moralizing to preachers. That being said, if you have any further questions about which haircut looks best on you. Feel free to PM me, I would love to give you my opinions about it. :hmmm:

Seems to have convinced the rest that he was a great guy. Hardly matters though. He doesn’t give a shit about his ideas because they either aren’t his, or they are contrived in order to give himself an air of superiority.

Which to me means he either A) did indeed copy and paste, write things for his own, etc., things he was accused of... or B) decided it wasn't worth it to argue, and decided to just move on. He was fairly new, where as the accusers were/are not.. I think this was quite a bash for anyone to take, and I do hope he comes back to defend himself.

You and I both know that it is A. The bash was intentional, the purpose was to modify his posting style which was quite irritating. Seems to have worked, didn’t it? Perhaps he will post on the forum like a regular person, rather than Jesus himself deciding to stop by and give us a few tidbits of enlightenment. Althought all of his posts were extremely interesting :rofl:

I retract all my previous injurious remarks towards you, because your martyr like attitude has demonstrated that I you are indeed a great person. How could I have ever thought that you were a fake who was looking to only get respect on a board of people you didn’t know. ;)

You are right it wasn’t worth the fight. But it sure as hell makes the forum a lot easier to read now that I don’t have to stare at your morose pictures, or read your copy and pasted “informative” posts. Keep fighting the good fight.

I am curious to know what threads you are referring to, I always do my best to credit the authors. I went over all my past posts to double check.
