I think your lease numbers are a bit optimistic. What figures did you use to calculate the numbers? Financing a car is always going to be better than renting it (A lease). A lease will most always give you a high interest rate of like 9%. Until you actually talk to Porsche about the lease I wouldn't hedge that its going to be like 450.

Chris, leases always give you far cheaper monthly payment - otherwise people wouldn't do it. I see your point that it's a "waste" but he understands that part. LOTS of people buy new cars every couple of years, so your paying to drive a new car regardless.

I'm not lying. Aside from respect for myself, I'm way too shy to do anything like that. Come on rado, I don't even post clothed pics on here!

Hey B, Try this web-site. It will give you some real lease numbers.

                    http://www.leasetrader.com

                    On a 2008 36month, 10K mile yr , with 5K down your monthly $590.00-700.00

mothly payments depends on credit score, option on the car, also dealer insentives, and the area you live in and time of month you buy. like right now is a good time for 2007.

mantinence on the car is at every 10k mile, $500.00 oil change. Because they put the car on a lift and lower the engine to service. some dealers will include this your lease payment.

Yes, but what people don't realize is they are ignoring the value of money and assets. By leasing a car you are gaining nothing. By purchasing a car, even with interest and financing you have a liquid asset. The Cayman is a great car, not as good as the Z4 M Coupe, but its fun. Its going to hold its value well and it will be easy to sell privately in 3 years. Even if you take out a loan term longer than 36 months, you can come out ahead financially in 3 years. I'm not telling him to keep the car longer than that. Hell I would keep it for as long as it has a warranty if he doesn't want to face maintenance costs.

I bet the difference you will find between leasing(36 months) and financing(60months) is like 150 bucks. I could be really wrong, but I think it won't be as great as you think Bouncer.

the car would be a lease. couldnt afford the payments of buying it and would want to worry about selling it in 3-4 years.

i see your point chris but the bottom line is this, its cheaper and in 3 years i get a new one.

the acura made sense to buy because we can pay that off in a few years and will keep it for a few years after than. the Cayman on the other hand would take longer to pay off and after I finally got it payed off it would be 5-6 years old and who knows what kind of issues and how expensive it would be to fix.

That Cayman is a good car. Nothing like the boxter which is a POS. I've driven a Cayman.
