You know, I saw this thread the other day, and it makes me sick to my stomach.
We have become so desensitized as a society because of things like this. I didn't even run the video because it is just so disgusting. Who wants to see this??? How does seeing something like that add value to anyone's life? People publish videos like this for shock value, and nothing more. No one really evaluates how it can make someone feel.
Since the whole Michael Vick thing, I have gotten very involved w/ the ASPCA. Now, this is a free country, and you can post whatever you want. But, for many it is quite upsetting. As I said, I don't even want to watch the video because I will get too upset and pissed off.

i don't and i'll tell you why.Originally posted by FrankTheTank55 View Postyeah watch it and see if you feel the same feelings you feel from the other.
The soldiers that are in Iraq are like the law and as such should be held to a higher standard than the average douche bag. Now I'm not saying that the donkey video wasn't upsetting, it totally was and those idiots should be punished. But a soldier should be better than the average person.
Certain professions are held to a higher standard than the rest of us (or should be) and it is worse when they break the rules, because they undermine the whole system along with whatever they did wrong.

1. I don't think I even want to ask what this "donkey video" is all about, so I won't.Originally posted by mindstar View Posti don't and i'll tell you why.

2. I agree 100% that people respresenting and defending our country should be examples of how to act. To think that we as Americans put all of our faith in these boys, and how some can embarass us to such extremes is appauling.

So soldiers and Marines not only have to worry about dying, missing their family, not eating hot food, sleeping in the sand, watching their friends die. They have to make sure they are outstanding citizens?? Now, I agree that throwing a dog off a cliff is wrong! But walk a mile in their shoes before you start setting "standards" for them to life by. They are in a place were they are hated and not wanted and they are told that everyday by the people of that country. All that shit gets at you after awhile. And to top it all off you have to worry about offending the people back home sitting on their asses watching youtube?? Im not justifying what he did but people have to remember these guys are human and they see some pretty inhuman things. Its hard to be all nice a sweet to a puppy then stick a knife in someones face. Its easier to stay in one mode but I dont expect anyone that hasnt been though it to understand...Originally posted by mindstar View Posti don't and i'll tell you why.
