Actually you are. Ownership dictates control. Control is, seemingly, what you are saying is the problem in this tradition. However, you do own your children. I can think of nothing more inherently *yours* than your children. You created them, you're the only reason they exist. If any reason elicits control of something, I would say creation of that something is it.

The question really is, how much we let society dictate what we can do: withing our own family, lives, houses, bedrooms, etc. All comes down to control.
