Religion isn't the opiate of the masses, it's what seperates us from lower life and allows us to explore spiritual and philosophical boundaries.

          Not true.

Recent evidence has been found that shows Neanderthals practiced funeral rituals and burial practices for their dead that indicates a primitive form of religion.

            the WHOLE WORLD!! wow.

do you know how small the "whole world" is bro?

do you understand that there are 400 billion suns in our own galaxy, each of those suns with there own planets?

the next galaxy over has 100 trillion suns.

i dont think you understand the vastness of space. the world is almost nothing at all on the scale of the universe.

                burial does not indicate religion.

burial is a function of survival. rotting flesh attracts disease, stench, deadly animals etc..

If you just toss the body in a hole that's true.

They decorated the locations, placed stones and carved figures into them.

That's a ritual, and that is indicative of religion.

Man and religion are linked now and forever. Always have been, always will be.

Just like we have the instinctual desire to learn and look beyond our own planet and solar system, to explore, we have the same internal drive to look for something larger than ourselves, to worship something, to learn who and what we are and most importantly the "why".

that's what you want to believe it indicates.

you would also say statues of Alexander or presidents or generals were religious if you didnt know any better.

Animism, the worshipping of animals as gods is probably the oldest organized formal religion.

                          The "cavemen" did it.

                          Just a fact.

There are very few things in life that are totally clear cut black and white.

Something as relative and complicated as spirituality is nothing but one big grey area.

Those who used to say God was shaking the ground or tossing down lightning bolts were no more delusional than those today who say God doesn't exist and never has.

The real truth is somewhere in the middle. You'll just have to find it yourself.

the first known culture to worship animals were the Egyptians.

there is no evidence at all that shows cavemen worshiped anything.
