gotta say Shib - you've pointed out a lot of excellent things but stereotyping prayer to Allah by wingnut zealots who read 10 pages of the koran and they fuck those up anyway is gonna hit a nerve with anyone who follows islam ... not terrorism - two separate entities , these terrorists would find any book out there and pervert it into their weak, pathetic attempts at their fear of death/life without having people fear them.
I have thought a lot about religion in general due to what you have said - simply pointing this out for those whose faith is "pure" , i don't know what the word would even be.... that's how fucked up terrorism has made islam.

Its funny Muslims want the Holy land, Jerusalem,Israel. While Isreal is mentioned in the holy bible about 900 times. the Quoran mentions it not a single time. The soon to be Middle east peace talks, Headed by obama is propheciesed in the holy bible. If you wake up,its in your face.

Christian is the name givin to those who follow the CHRIST. Its Judism dumb ass. They are those who dont think Christ was Messiah.Yet they follow and believe his teaching.Just not willing to accept God came as a poor carpenter. And not willing to accept they (jews) had him executedLast edited by Gods Son; 09-30-10, 09:18 PM.

There are bad preachers, and false doctrine. The bible clearly warns you about this.Hense jesus said i teach with parables so those who want to hear can and those who dont cant.Even if you dont believe in god or Jesus you cant debunk that Jesus lived 2000 yrs ago.Your scientist have found plenty of evidence and he was the most influential man who ever walk the earth by far

atheists know more about religion because they are always trying to find ways to argue against it. anyone who has read socrates knows that some of the best debate comes from always affirming the opponent's argument, making it strong, only to make their own argument stronger when they defeat it.

Then be a Ghandian. At least there wouldn't be so many wars especially over nothing.Originally posted by Gods Son View PostShibby your above average intellegence, BUUUUT your personal feeligs about religion, block you from seeing the truth.By the way GOD hates Religion,He doesnt want you baptist or holiness or assembly of god. Evidence? Show me even a glimpse that you know what you are talking about and that you are more than just your preachers blithering tool. You can keep stating I'm wrong or way off, but you have yet to show any credence to your claims. I could just throw stuff out there and then stick my fingers in my ears like you do, but I respect myself and my intelligence more than that.Originally posted by Gods Son View PostThere are bad preachers, and false doctrine. The bible clearly warns you about this.Hense jesus said i teach with parables so those who want to hear can and those who dont cant.Even if you dont believe in god or Jesus you cant debunk that Jesus lived 2000 yrs ago.Your scientist have found plenty of evidence and he was the most influential man who ever walk the earth by farLast edited by Shibby; 09-30-10, 10:26 PM.

Or as in my case, I learned about it because what I was told didn't make sense. I researched to see why one is more righteous than the next. The answer? None of them are. People are raised in fear of questioning what they are taught. As they get older they see that fear never goes away as an adult and are even more afraid to question things now. Most people are incapable of changing the simplest things in life. Is anyone really that surprised that they fear asking these questions of themselves the most? It's the difference between being mentally strong versus weak. As for people who feel they found missing answers in a faith different from their original one, it goes back to people still being afraid to ask themselves "If I remove faith is there really a void in my life? Or am I just scared of what I might find"?Originally posted by mofo View Postatheists know more about religion because they are always trying to find ways to argue against it.

When you explained to me your point of view shib - a lot of things clicked for me - i think honestly the only part of death I fear is the thought of it somehow being premature (not that we are promised any length of life) and leaving the people I love dearly with the void that I will not be there. Fear of the unknown is pretty much pointless, fear of not being able love someone anymore is terrifying - that's one of the main reasons my life has turned around.Originally posted by Shibby View PostOr as in my case, I learned about it because what I was told didn't make sense.
