it was given to me .. just watched Vietnam in color and hd over the weekend ...

i use to watch history channel all the time but they seem to be putting more crap on it ...

will have to get the military channel ..

Yea the 3 part Vietnam special was good shit. Those dudes fought just as hard or harder then the guys in ww2 but had none of the glory and came home to a hostile nation. Sad shit

I've recorded all 3 but have only watched the first part. Crazy fact; ww2 soldiers averaged 10 days of war in a year, Vietnam soldiers averaged 240 days. They fought for no cause whatsoever and came home as the enemy. Tragic.

It's an insane fact. I can't imagine 10 days of war let alone 2/3 of a year engaged in day and night attacks and defense.

Also I got choked up when the old man told the story of pulling the soldier out by his boots and the flesh pulling off his bones (after being hit by their own napalm bombs). Then he proceeds to tell you the soldiers name, about his life and family and says with tears in his eyes, a lump in his throat "that boy is my nightmare." Oh man, heavy heavy stuff.
