I have a Lenovo Laptop (love it) and an acer netbook also good little thing that never gave me an issue.

Lenovo doesn't come with all the bloatware.

if you end up wanting to stick to a PC, i really like the designs of most HPs and Sonys. they cost in the higher $800s but it is worth it. I like the HP Envy, mainly because the raised/separated keyboard is something i've come to think of as a staple for my laptops. and the other thing you want to take into consideration is the screen. i love my MBP screen a lot. the brightness and clarity, especially since it's not an HD screen.

I was actually going to say all the HP's really "look pretty" and they do lots of 17" screens.

Wouldn't matter if I have someone taking all that junk off anyway, right?

My last hp battery stopped charging to 100% about 3 months after I bought it and then the hard drive failed about a year after I bought it. It was cheaply built tons of lose plastic etc..

I have to buy a laptop for school and I am going Mac.

                        1. Wait 6 months for the macbook refresh and mountain lion.

I am getting the macbook air, but the new pros will likely reseamble the current airs. Or wait until the new design and buy the current one for a discount.

My imac has been great, had a few problems but beats my old pcs.

I love windows 7 and would get a toshiba ultrabook if I could simply take it to the store if I had problmes. That is one of Macs biggest strenths.

Toshiba would have to be mailed somewhere and I would be out of a computer for days or weeks.
