Even ignoring my earlier points in this thread, the thing is I'm practically there already, if I open my door I'll see the same weather as you will on the TV screen, I'm just not impressed with huge crowds bro, does nothing for me.Originally posted by decadecadeca View PostYeah, it's just one of the most amazing things in human history.
Probably never be that close to it again....but don't bother to catch a quick train to see any of it.
Apart from that, coverage on TV will be better than being there from track and field. Only thing I'll perhaps go watch is tennis where the atmosphere is awsome and you can always see everything.
I'm excited by it but just not fussed about being part of a crowd

It's like saying you can see the entire world on TV, why bother to travel.

i dont agree with the travel analogy because you can travel without being swamped with 400 billion filts.

Certain things are gonna draw huge crowds, historic events tend to do that.
If you want to be a part you have to get in there and live a little.

The thing that Deca does not comprehend is that this olympics is circa 5 times the magnitude of salt lake in 2002, couple that with the fact its being squeezed into the outer corner of the Country's capital city and it makes for probable nightmare travel, silly prices, overcrowding etc etc, fuck that, London is bad anough under normal circumstances
