Rec Drug users, is this accurate?

I am not acting superior at all, just explaining my situation. However, how does it sound minimal? I didn't reveal any facts regarding it. Not trying to flatter shit, just was discussing my personal experience. I have been through some crazy shit, granted I don't think it was near at the level AOW has experienced. I left it in the past and don't plan to discuss it deeper.

I will excuse myself from this discussion that has obviously taken a wrong turn somewhere. Seems like AOW and I were discussing, you and BLM were just shouting comments from the sidelines.

This topic always gets under my skin on this board as well as others. Too many hypocrites and people that think they are better than others.

Obviously there are many differences between the reasons people use and the effects that the drug(s) of choice have on the persons mind and/or body but the fact remains, the steroid user and rec drug user are truly not that far apart. It is a person using a substance to obtain a result/feeling that is not "normal". Just like some may not get the harsh sides of certain steroids someone may not be drawn into the darkest sides of addiction to certain rec drugs.

It does not mean you have a superior psyche or mentality, it just means you are fortunate enough to not have the chemistry that allows you to fall victim as easily as others.

Like BLM said, obviously something was different in my chemistry to allow me to stop, also the fact that I didn't allow my self to go all the way down the rabbit hole. I never tried H, wanted to, thought about it, but I refrained. I do know opiates are extremely powerful and can't even imagine the physical effects it has on the body.

I like this thread. I have been shown a new perspective regarding addiction and would like to learn more. Props to you AOW for wanting to help people when you get out of school. I have a research project due in a few months, I know think I am going to compare/contrast two different drugs used to treat addiction, because I want to learn more about addiction.

well said. and just to be clear i dont deny being an "abuser" as rado use to put it. he was right. i dont use crazy insane doses but i do stay on for long periods and use them in a in which they were not intended. that combined with needing that feeling of being invincible and being looked at by women and men alike in the gym, the beach, store etc.. is an absolute high that i crave.

i did not start this thread to feel superior over a rec drug user. i saw that youtube url and thought it was pretty interesting.

LOL, I was just thinking the same thing as B--this thread has gone awry. I think I inadvertently got it started down this track. I was just saying that as awful as the video made it sound and one wonders why you'd let yourself even go there, it applies to almost anything that one gets addicted to (physically, psychologically, anything). Hell, I bet a lot of us don't feel normal or don't feel happy with life when we don't get to train or don't get our supplements--nevermind, don't wanna drag this on...just saying it's easy to say wtf to users of one drug but most of us have our drug of choice. Mine happens to be training.
