I'm sure you've tried Suboxone before, is it pretty harsh? Would taking a whole 8mg film be dangerous in any way or is that a moderate amount?

Do you have any opiate habit what so ever ? Bupernorphie (the partial synthetic opiod) in suboxone is very strong and a full 8mg dose of it will leave you nauseas / puking at minimum if you have a low / no tolerance to opiates. I haven't heard of a overdose from this amount - however I have heard of someone being sick for about 36 hours as described above , which is borderline overdose. If you are set on taking it , I would recommend 2-4mg , and waiting an hour, it takes roughly 30 minutes to kick in and an hour before full affects are seen.

If you are going to take any recreational drug, remember you can always take more, you can't always take back.

Mind if i ask what's going on frank ? Suboxone is usually just for detox / maintenence - it's not a very euphoric opiod , although I do know plenty of people who take them for rec purposes and don't touch harder full agonist opiates like heroin of methadone / oxymorphine etc.

Studies show that it is really only useful when used at a treatment facility.

Are you trying to use it as an analgesic? Most patients start out on .25-1strip, but it depends on the circumstances. IBU would be better for pain if that is what you are looking for.

Suboxone has 2mg of naltrexone in it - if you take it too quickly after dosing an opiate it will send you into the harshest withdrawal you have ever heard of. I've done it ! It sucks.

Revia is 50mg of naltrexone , it's a blocker for opiates and alcohol so you cannot use - can help an addict , same deal with the vivitrol shot - the shot lasts a month of naltrexone.

I think the drug is shitty , but that's just how I respond to it - everyone is different ! I certainly know it can help people - and it certainly can be abused , it is easily injectable with a micron filter or if you have subutex no need even for that - the absorption rate goes from like 20~ % give or take sublingually to 100% and you can catch a rush n everything ... bad news. I know a few people w bad IV bupe habits.

Package insert is where I read of that study. So, it was most likely during pre-clinical trails but I am not positive. No package insert in font of me at the moment.

Never said it wasn't succesful outside of a treatment facility, but only that the study showed it was more effective in a treatment setting. It has now become a popular street drug.

My buddy is into vicodin bad! Like 10-20 a day! The guy spends lIke $1500 a month on the shit. So, I heard about Suboxone helping people get off vics and he won't get help, so I bought some Suboxone for him. I gave him one today to see if it helps him not need all those pills. But I told him to only take a quarter of it but I'm worried he will take the whole thing.

first of all if he's taking those hydros without cold water extract his liver is more likely to overdose than he is on the opiate

on that tiny habit he will be fine w 2-4 mg of bupe (sub)

ya for real - imagine if he's taking down the 10mg hydro / 1 gram APAP :S

If he relapses after detoxing w subs , which he will. Tell him to google CWE - cold water extract , it'll save his life w his liver - also tell him to get to an NA meeting and get some help, he won't be able to handle this on his own unfortunately.

He can nip this in the ass now while he has a tiny habit and he'll have no idea how much he will owe you man - it gets so much worse when you start fucking around with real high doses of stronger opiates.
