      I think I would do a short guided tour and after I get the basics and the layout of the land so to speak, I would venture out on my own.

      I totally agree. My aunt has traveled the entire world, and while she was single she took multiple SmartTours. I look at it as a way to maximize the trip and get the most out of it. Every day you are going somewhere different, and you're doing it safely and getting the history/culture by someone that can explain it to you.

      Scrum, I agree that a young person can travel Europe safely. I know she did an Asia one and a safari one, amongst others.
