Your problem is that your surrounded in the South by like minded dispshits. It's a great thing that you come here and get a perspective slap in the mouth by the clear minded, enlightened, West Coast thinker of the ages!

I really don't think so. The cases that have blown up are about unarmed black people.

Listen, I'm no defender of the blacks. I'm just unbiased and I call it like I see it. Just like I do on the whole gun law debate. If you make a good point I acknowledge it and agree. If scrum makes a good point I acknowledge it and agree. Remove bias and stick with facts. This was no innocent unarmed white fella. If it was, I would be on your side here.

Fucking people. "He probably didn't hear the command to drop the gun". Of course the family didn't finish the sentence accurately with "that he was waving and shooting in the air".

LA Sheriff? That's a fine upstanding department, dedicated to the welfare of the people. I believe everything they say to be absolute truth.

Target practice, folks. Yeah, he is crawling away, mortally wounded but let's empty the whole clip into him anyway and put him out of his misery. Hell, that's what we do for wounded animals, don't we?

It doesn't matter. Your saying he should be allowed to keep crawling with the gun and potentially fire it?

I'm not saying anything. I'm just skeptical of the police version of anything. In all fatal shooting cases, there needs to be an external impartial body analyzing what happened and whether the situation was brought under control with minimum force. Call me cynical, but between the thin blue line, the code of silence, the false reports, the mysterious disappearing videos, etc. let's just say that I don't necessarily believe what the police says.

I guess we'll wait and see, but I know how this is going to play out.. There will be a "fair and impartial" INTERNAL investigation and the DA/grand jury will say everything was A-OK. Meanwhile, the cops will be on paid vacation.

Tkd has a point scrum. Let's say the cop stops shooting, the guy keeps crawling with a gun and a civilian is nearby, there is the potential for that scum to shoot an innocent bystander. That scum is no longer innocent and deserves his head blown off the second he raises his weapon towards an officer. I disagree with you 100% on this subject and cannot understand your point of view whatsoever.

I would be more comfortable with an external investigation. Right now, the only thing I have to go with is what the police are saying. And given everything, I am not sure I will automatically assume that they are telling the truth.

                            I can agree with that.

California police shooting: deputies fire 33 rounds at gunman - CNN.com

33 shots? Damn... I wonder how many hit him. I doubt even a soldier shooting at an Iraqi gunman in Fallujah would shoot 33 rounds at 1 guy.

Regardless of the guilt or innocence of this guy, this sounds to me like a training issue, where they start shooting and lock up and can't stop.
