I'm not saying anything. I'm just skeptical of the police version of anything. In all fatal shooting cases, there needs to be an external impartial body analyzing what happened and whether the situation was brought under control with minimum force. Call me cynical, but between the thin blue line, the code of silence, the false reports, the mysterious disappearing videos, etc. let's just say that I don't necessarily believe what the police says.

I guess we'll wait and see, but I know how this is going to play out.. There will be a "fair and impartial" INTERNAL investigation and the DA/grand jury will say everything was A-OK. Meanwhile, the cops will be on paid vacation.

Tkd has a point scrum. Let's say the cop stops shooting, the guy keeps crawling with a gun and a civilian is nearby, there is the potential for that scum to shoot an innocent bystander. That scum is no longer innocent and deserves his head blown off the second he raises his weapon towards an officer. I would be more comfortable with an external investigation. Right now, the only thing I have to go with is what the police are saying. And given everything, I am not sure I will automatically assume that they are telling the truth.

Regardless of the guilt or innocence of this guy, this sounds to me like a training issue, where they start shooting and lock up and can't stop.
