Turns out I have a micro fracture in my thoracic spine. The micro fracture has been putting pressure on nerves and causing terrible muscle spasms and tightness in back. Wants me on valium and oxycodone, and I need to get a Botox and cortisone injection in the area around the fracture to numb it and relax it so the muscle around the area can heal faster.
Said I can do light gym work but nothing heavy for a few months.

I know you have a lot going on, but YOU dictate your pharmacological treatment. Pain is a difficult parameter to measure. Don't be afraid to ask for a drug/dose change up or down, if needed.Originally posted by Bouncer View PostTurns out I have a micro fracture in my thoracic spine. I have witnessed the opioid train take ahold of many people.
You are in charge, not the doctor. Is the Valium for sleep? What are his plans for that? Length of therapy? Plenty of other benzodiazepines with a shorter half life and other options for sleep.

Brother, let me just say this as I've noticed your pain meds intake...from the tramadol then to that plus kratom...now to morphine and norcos...to them putting you on oxy. I've been down that road, and I had no idea the misery these meds would inflict on my life. Please realize your body is or will soon become accostomed to pain meds and you will become addicted if you already arent. I was prescribed darvocets...then vicodin then percocets, then more percs, then roxicodone and methodone. Shit absolutely ruined my life for years. I thought, man I feel so much better and a doctor is prescribing these so it's ok. Next thing I know I'm taking more than I should then running out and feeling like death. Like the worst flu you can remember x 5. Just be aware even tho these things are coming from a medical professional, they are derived from the same thing heroine is- and you will become addicted and in a very bad state. I don't want you to go thru what I did man, please be careful.

Valium should help for sure.Originally posted by Bouncer View PostValium is for sleep and relaxation. He thinks it will calm me and calm the spasms.
Medication length is so keep me comfortable until I can get the injections and numb those nerves allowing the constant spasm muscles in back to relax.
Just keep your head up. Hopefully the Oxy treatment will be short lived and you can get back to life as normal. Don't drink alcohol.

Thanks for sharing Matt. I've seen too many people personally and professionally go down that road.Originally posted by MattG View PostBrother, let me just say this as I've noticed your pain meds intake...from the tramadol then to that plus kratom...now to morphine and norcos...to them putting you on oxy. I hear ya brother but the pain of 24/7 nerve compression means you cannot sleep and your life is 24/7 pain. These meds will be used until the nerve it shutoff for awhile by Botox and cortisone epidural.Originally posted by MattG View PostBrother, let me just say this as I've noticed your pain meds intake...from the tramadol then to that plus kratom...now to morphine and norcos...to them putting you on oxy. I know bro, it's a double edged sword. Don't take them and feel like total shit...take them and chance becoming addicted. I will almost guarantee you will feel awful once you cease medication. Doest take long for your body to become dependate on them. Once it does and you run out you also won't be able to sleep due to withdrawls. The longer ur on them the worse it will be...so only use them until you don't need them any moreOriginally posted by Bouncer View PostI hear ya brother but the pain of 24/7 nerve compression means you cannot sleep and your life is 24/7 pain. Only drug I'll ever be addicted to is good old fashioned hormona.
And by the I've had every test known to man in the last few days. Heart, kidneys, blood panels , all the docs say I am super healthy. So much for long term steroid use hurting your organs and shit. Just gotta be smart with it. Don't do extreme doses, take fish oil, take eat plenty fiber, do cardio etc.. and use healthy compounds. Test, deca, short term dbol, primo, anavar, gh, etc.. do it smart and you'll be fine.
Fracturing my spine and lifting till my CK levels were 7000 was my bad. Lol
