Crazy how far phones have come in the last 10 years. I remember rooting and changing Roms on my Droid constantly just to get new features. I over clocked that bitch from 550mhz to 1100mhz. Dont even need to do any of that stuff anymore. Good times

    • You wanna go waaaaay back? I remember being hot shit for having a flip phone with a camera on it. That was a big upgrade coming from the Nokia that everyone else was still on. Lmao!

Back then it was all about the custom faceplates and who could type the fastest lol.

                      • Samsung is refusing to pay for property damage caused by its exploding Note 7 phone | ExtremeTech

                        Samsung’s self-sabotage
It’s tough to say yet whether Samsung is legally required to pay for damage in these cases, and we suspect proving it will be extremely expensive. But that’s also beside the point. If it cost Samsung $50,000 to reimburse each of the 47 people affected (and we know it won’t cost that much, since bedroom sets and nightstands aren’t half that expensive, and there have only been a few reports of major property damage), that comes out to $2.35 million. In a recall expected to cost Samsung $17 billion in lost revenue, $2.35 million is a literal drop in the bucket — 0.014% of the total. Compare that with the potential damage to Samsung’s brand if customers decide to avoid the company’s products in the future, because it failed to do right by the customers it injured by neglecting to properly design its products.
if i were them, i'd pay and move on....i have a feeling they're going to try and sweep this under a rug and not deal with it...IF that happens, i'm done with this brand.

this is NOT a financially weak brand, they're the gorilla in these tech ages. it is sad to see someone of this magnitude and not make things right. if this happens to me while i still have the phone, better believe i'd hire the right atty and sue!
