So, a group of black football players trying to raise awareness for an issue isn’t enough reason? Getting treated like a second class citizen isn’t enough of a reason? Getting harrassed by police isn’t a reason? Getting pulled over for being black isn’t a reason?

Why stand if you don’t feel like you are treated as well as other members of the populace? People complained when they protested in the streets, so many used their national stage to kneel. What would you prefer? How would you handle the same situation?

America is free. Free to stand or kneel.

Chadddd, these guys are incredibly brave to do this. To bring attention to something they believe in. This is what makes America great. That we can even do this at all. We fight wars for the freedom to do this. We can always get better. People have been standing up for things like this for centuries from slavery to even giving women the right to vote. Can you believe there was a time, not too long ago where women couldn't even vote? What if nobody ever stood up against that? Where would we be?

It's wasn't all that long ago when you could own slaves. Someone made a stand against that. It was very recent when blacks and whites couldn't go to the same schools or even use the same restrooms and had to sit in the back of the bus. Someone stood up against that. And now recently in 2017, we have police who treat blacks as 2nd class citizens and carry fake guns to plant on people in the case where they shoot them.

What Keapernick and these guys are doing is just as brave and admirable as what Martin Luther King did or Rosa Parks. In Kaepernick's case he lost his job over it and got death threats. There is a reason he was voted as GQ's citizen of the year. This photo is very powerful, to me it looks like they are nervous and aren't even comfortable doing this. They know of the backlash. This is true bravery.

chadd i think me and you agree on this issue more then we disagree. but i have to point something out here. avid was in the military. he served the country. he deserves a little more respect then to say "maybe you were molested in the service".. that's not cool. avid is not some fag sitting in his basement talking shit about the country. he is a veteran who was willing to give his life for this country. if anyone has the right not to stand if he doesn't want to it's him!

I loved being in the military but I thought I loved a girl more and got out. I often regret getting out. Though I still stay in touch with a bunch of guys I was in with.

no this is nothing like the people you quoted. Kap didn't loose his job over tis he was on his way out before this happened and prob did It because he knew he was on the way out. him not getting picked up as a 3rd string cuz of this I might agree but that would depend on his pay he's not worth his pay anymore.

his reason to kneel could be good or bad it dont matter cuz the way he sends it pissed so many people off they will never hear it.
