Better Sleep Patterns Improve Life Expectancy:

"A 22-year study of 21,268 adults published in the journal Sleep found that sleeping for fewer than seven hours a night is associated with a 26 percent increase in the likelihood of early death in men. Surprisingly, the sleep study also found that getting more than eight hours of sleep is dangerous for men too: It raises the same risk by 24 percent."

I have heard this but idk when you think the world population this means nothing too many variables how well did these people take care of themselves? diet, exercise, smokers? The past things in life that could have affected duration of life. I think sleep as much as you feel is right.

I'd have to agree - but you know my past brother, I have not been taking care of myself too well so when you add in the lack of sleep while trying to move on, it's quite frustrating and leaves me utterly exhausted. So while it may not apply to even many at all, if anyone was to fill that category, it would be me - I absolutely need to get those hours.

exactly you need more sleep that's what I am saying your body tells you how much sleep you need; it seems your mind is always racing; I been having some problems in my life, nothing like yours but it is affecting my sleep sporadically; But I just said fuck it what ever happens happens.

I sleep like shit during the night, always waking up or waking up too early.

One thing I have never understood though is how some bodybuilders will do sleep cycles and still be ok? I read an article not long ago on how Jay Cutler and some others will sleep 2-3 hours at a time throughout a 24 hour period. How could that even help the body and not harm it?

If anyone doubts how important sleep is - just look @ the posts I've had in the last week. Last night I finally slept , actually woke up at 2pm , normally that would piss me off. But fresh - back from gym, feeling good.

I can't stress how important sleep is, throw out all that money for the foreman .. the chicken breasts and those amps ? fuck em. You gotta sleep to grow.

I read an interview once with Jay Cutler where he said he would sleep for 2 hours, get up and eat and workout, then sleep for like 2 hours, get up eat and whatever, then keep doing that. I thought it was strange.

In his movie "ripped to shreds" - he sleeps like 6 hours, is up, does cardio, tans, does few other things - then back to bed. 3 hours or so later up ...meals / lifting .. back to bed. I think that's probably what you are getting at. Btw that vid sucks dick.

Well I've found that munching on fina pellets can solve the eating problems - they fill me up just enough that I can sleep well, which of course is all you really need as you stated.... such a douche man lmao

Any of you that have a hard time sleeping try wearing earplugs; Just for laughs I put some in because I wanted to take a quick hour nap before the gym and wow you are almost deaf with thost things in my alarm was blasting away and I couldn't even hear it. I used the Howard Leigh 40DB reduction foam earplugs; really don't even feel them in your ear.
