How taking painkillers can destroy your stomach lining in days | Daily Mail Online
Fuck that shit
I'm pulling out my stomach feels terrible
Switching to paracetamol and diazepam ill apply some nsaid in topical gel not tablets anymore

nsaid's damage the stomach in the very way they work. they lower a chemical in the body that causes inflammation but also happens to be the chemical that protects your stomach. many people believe that it's the NSAID itself that does the damage, its not, it's damage by proxy. so regardless of administration, any NSAID even in topical form can still cause stomach problems.

If its an nsaid yes. The way in which it works is by lowering what causes inflammation in the body. This also happens to be the same thing that protects the lining of the stomach. Has nothing to do with the pill itself sitting in your stomach which is what you seem to think. You have an image in your head of an ibuprofen tablet eating your stomach lining. Not the case at all.Originally posted by Mr I View PostHave you tried valium /diazepam? Sounds like your treating the symptom when in fact the cause needs a muscle relaxant

In the long term it can cause stomach irritation by decreasing prostaglandins and stomach mucus production as well as limiting prostaglandin mediated blood flow to your kidneys. Not a huge deal in the shorter term but its not an indefinite thing. You need to take something like nexium to help counter and protect the gut from the damage.
