Yeah man, I have not given up yet. I have been studying for my final exams at school. I did manage to score a 94 on one of my finals. The last one is tomorrow. I did get on the scale Sunday morning after my morning piss and I weighed in at 251. I am still trying to find ways to add food to my diet because I am still in the 1800-2500 calories a day. I did order the whey protein blend and it has not come in yet. Maybe then it will be a little easier. I find it very hard to eat every three hours. It seams that I get behind very easy and then you play catchup the rest of the day trying to get all of the calories in. I did get some natural peanut butter. Man if anyone has any trouble getting in there 4000ml of water a day take a teaspoon of natural peanutbutter and you WILL need 500ml of water to get it down. LOL If you want to have some fun, give some to the dog. I am sorry but my wife and I laughfed for 15 mins. With all of that water in me I about pissed myself.

Mark, good to have you, I will try not to duplicate all the good advice you have already had. One thing though, its good your doing excercise now and remember you don't have to get your heart rate mega high to improve health and loose weight, infact 165 is a bit too high for fat burning specifically.

With your exams etc maybe you should aim to go on some long walks with your ipod and a bottle water. It great to get wrapped up and get out in the fresh air this time of year and this should hepl you relax and think through some of the reading you have done or how you may approack some further exams, questions that may arise.

A good brisk stroll is the cornerstone of many bodybuilders regime when dieting for a competition. Should get your heart rate to like 125 -130 and that is enough, no more than 145-150 needed.

Thanks man I will try it a lower intensity. Sometimes I fell like I am not doing any work unless I have my heart rate up. I am off of work today and I usually walk at least 2 miles a day (pedometer). I will do 4 miles at a low intensity and see how that does. Thanks

ya, falling behind is a bad thing. just dedicate your self to eating every 3 hours. after awhile it will be hard not to eat every 3 hours. watch a movie like Rocky or pumping iron and focus that kind of determination towards your own goals.

Thanks I have a friend at work that is a body builder and he watches that movie once a month. LOL I asked him if I could start to workout with him and he come on. I would like to lose another 25 pounds before I start to hit the weights.

Are you worried that you are to u healthy to weight train?

Otherwise there is no need to hold off, just take it steady we can healp you with a routine once you feel you are ready. Adding one or two days in the gym a week would be a fun change for you and would go very well with your walking on the other days

Oh no, my biggest thing was that I wanted to get my cardio up to par. I know from reading on here how it taxes the cardiovascular system. I have been doing much better with my flexability and my resting heart rate. My resting heart rate was low 90's to upper 80's. Now before I start my workout it is low 70's. 5 weeks ago I could not tie my shoes with out getting out of breath. The funny thing is that with the stretching before and after my cardio I can almost untie my shoes with my teeth LOL

The body builder at my work, works out at home. He has a gym in his basement and his training partner has been slack so he wants me to start working out with him. I may see if I can workout one day next week for his chest day and see how it goes. I just know that when you start out like me your very sore to move for the first couple of weeks until your body gets use to using muscles that it did not know were there. Maybe I can get him to set it up so that I can do a whole body workout before or after his workout dealing with lite weights. Any suggestions?

OK well first off don't get too obsessed with the forward stretch, if you get too good at moving your head to your groin area you will cease to have use for women

Seriousely its great to listen to someone that goes about this i such a methodical way, and don't dro the cardio when you start the weights.

In continuing this staged development when you start training don't worry about the weights you use for the first couple months just concentrate on getting the form down. On this note it concerns me slightly that your freind is inferred he may substitute you in place of his existing TP on the basis he's a bit lazy or something. You having not really rained before/recently. It would be counter productive for you to go hell for leather straight away and tear something.

I understand, he said that we would start out real lite and get the form down before going heavy. That is how he trains, he would rather have good form and control of the weight unstead of maxing out. His training partner is more of heavy all of the time with little control and form. I think that is why he wants me, that way he can train me like he does.

The good news is that this morning the scale read 245 so I am already down 30 pounds. I have a Dr. physical Dec 20 to have everything checked out. It would be good to lose another 5 pounds by then. On the down side I am still having trouble eating every 3 hours. Up until 6 weeks ago I did not even eat breakfast so I have made some good progress in my diet and training. I am hoping that my body will get use to eating because I am still only getting 2200-2700 calories a day.
