BECAUSE: when most people eat whey shakes, they just drink the shake down and wait for their next meal. In order NOT to feel hungry an hour later, you need some fats or some carbs taken in with it to SLOW the digestion. Which then leads to you feeling fuller longer.

Whole food meals are always better than shakes. But when people need the extra protein & cals, or are on the run, they add the shakes.

The reason you feel hungry soon after is because you need to add some fats OR carbs. Eat your shake w/ a rice cake & natty PB or 1/4c of nuts and see what happens

Ok but why am i trying to feel full longer? Im trying to eat more, im not really worried about staying full longer and SLOWING digestion if my goal is to eat as much as possible throughout the day.

This seems ok if you are cutting, but if i was bulking wouldnt i want to SLOW my metabolism. ?

redback you are trying to fight something simply because you want to use shakes instead of full meals. real food meals are superior, end of story.

and no, you never want to slow your metabolism. you simply need to eat more cals then your body is burning.

I was advocate for whole foods vs shakes back int he BB days, and even more so now that I am performance based.

I still enjoy a good smoothie with ON whey/flax/berries though

If you are SLOWING digestion, that means your body has MORE TIME to absorb the nutrients you are giving it. So, that's what you want. Why would you want to eat all those calories, and not have them used in your body?
