You probably mentioned this before but what was the cause of the pain you were/are having?

It's a good question because it gives me the opportunity to share what I learned. When you get an MRI scan at 39 years old it's bound to show up a bunch of stuff. The challenge is finding which actually causes the pain!

In my case the orthopedic surgeon feels that a significant disk bulge at L4/L5 combined with degenerative disk disease (quite common) is causing a lateral recess stenosis (a thinning of the normal space), thus impinging the sciatic nerve

The sciatic nerve btw is not one single root it's a group of small roots like fingers that come out from the spine and in between the vertebrea, then join like fingers to an arm onto one main nerve down each buttock and down each leg. I'll try and attach the most telling photo I took of an on screen MRI image, you will see that the vertical white line to the right (column), is broken into by the disk at L4/L5

Incidentally the orthopedic surgeon has treat bodybuilders before and said I have the perfect shaped back curve for bodybuilding but on the flip side it's prone to such

Damn I missed this thread. Get well soon bro!

I had some medical stuff going on this week as well. I had another upper GI scoping this week since last time they found abnormal motility disorder and extra waviness in my esophogous. They prescribed me a PPI for 6 weeks and rescoped and rebiopsied to see if there is improvement. If it is improved they want to do a surgery on the valve at the top of my stomach so I don't have to be on medicine forever. If it isn't improved then I have a possible food allergy that if it can't be found and removed from my diet then I have to be on an oral steroid like prednisone forever. Not ideal at all so hopefully the PPI is repairing it and it is all due to reflux.

How about you ask your doctor instead of a bunch of internet assholes? We wouldn't know our ass from our elbows.

                            Because I'm not sick

It's just a protocol type question, the kind if thing people might know about on here.

I've hardly ever been operated on so not much clue

Possibly some good news, a friend is in a bad way and may need help walking his dog while he recovers. He lives close to me so although walking causes me some pain, so long as I can stop at intervals this could be an ideal opportunity. I like to get put and walk but feel kind of odd walking on my own as big as I am.

Better yet the dog is an 11 month old cane corso. So I get to help a friend out and have a rehab buddy

Don't mean to turn a positive into a negative but Is the dog a puller? My pit would put you in the hospital the way she pulls. I'm gonna have to look into what's called a gentle leader. Pulls the head down if they pull. No bullshit this dog could pull a bag of cement up Everest. Unbelievable strength and stamina.

Anyway, just make sure the dog isn't a puller on leash. The type of breed and the fact that it's 11 months tells me that it probably is. Don't want you to fuck yourself up worse. These types of dog are amazingly strong.
