Well at 11 months old he already weighs 100lbs

But i'm 250 lb and im not that fragile. Is that what you mean or is there more for me to think about?

I'll keep it on a leash. He's just been neutered

      Absolutely more to think about.

My pit at 9 months and 65 lbs pulls with about 3 times as much energy, endurance, and strength than my mom's 150lbs Rottweiler or my 120lb bull mastiff ever did.

It's also the bursts of power in the pull. She sees a squirrel an your arm will come off if your not prepared.

I'm not sure if a cane is more like a rotty and mastiff or if they are more like a pit on leash. Just be prepared and don't hurt yourself more.

Yea it's the young part that has me a bit worried for your back. Even trained, young dogs tend to be a bit wild. Not just the pulling in a straight line part either. It's the side to side tug that can hurt.

I definitely have to pop a few ibuprofen after a 2 hour hike with my 65lb mighty mouse. Lol

Might not look like much but those little legs can pull a dead elephant through a swamp if need be. Lol

Have you actually got a pit bull or is it a staff?

"Pitbull" is a wide ranging description of a group of dogs. American Staffordshire Terror falls under that category. The English Staffordshire Bull terrier is much smaller than what I have. The English version weighs at max 40lbs, far smaller than the American counterpart.

So while I have an Amstaff it would also be classified as a "pitbull" by law enforcment or the media if she ever did anything wrong.

That's not what I thought was a pit but I take your point it's a widely used term.

Most people don't actually know what a Putbull is. If your thinking of one of those huge stocky dogs that looks like a pitbull your confused. Those dogs are a mix of a pitbull and a mastiff. The "Hulk" pitbull famous on the internet is the perfect example of this. A pure bred pitbull is much leaner and much more athletic. A real pit will run circles around one of these mixed bully breeds.

and much more functional. the mixed version has tons of health issues and they are lazy as fuck. real pits are working dogs that can go all day long. the American bully mix gets winded taking a piss. they are bred strictly for the look of size and everything else be damned. They come only from "backyard breeders" usually from the deep south.

Is the first one what you would call an American pitbull or just a pitbull

No such thing as "American pitbull". It's American Staffordshire Terrier or just Pitbull.

The big bulky mixed breeds are called "American Bully's". A mixed group of bully breeds like pitbulls mixed with bull mastiff etc..
