Yea it's the young part that has me a bit worried for your back. Even trained, young dogs tend to be a bit wild. Not just the pulling in a straight line part either. It's the side to side tug that can hurt.
I definitely have to pop a few ibuprofen after a 2 hour hike with my 65lb mighty mouse. Lol

Can is basically like a bull mastiff in size and power and personality although this one is young

Absolutely more to think about.
My pit at 9 months and 65 lbs pulls with about 3 times as much energy, endurance, and strength than my mom's 150lbs Rottweiler or my 120lb bull mastiff ever did.
It's also the bursts of power in the pull. She sees a squirrel an your arm will come off if your not prepared.
I'm not sure if a cane is more like a rotty and mastiff or if they are more like a pit on leash. Just be prepared and don't hurt yourself more.

Well at 11 months old he already weighs 100lbs
But i'm 250 lb and im not that fragile. Is that what you mean or is there more for me to think about?
I'll keep it on a leash. He's just been neutered

Don't mean to turn a positive into a negative but Is the dog a puller? My pit would put you in the hospital the way she pulls. I'm gonna have to look into what's called a gentle leader. Pulls the head down if they pull. No bullshit this dog could pull a bag of cement up Everest. Unbelievable strength and stamina.Originally posted by Mr I View PostPossibly some good news, a friend is in a bad way and may need help walking his dog while he recovers. He lives close to me so although walking causes me some pain, so long as I can stop at intervals this could be an ideal opportunity. I like to get put and walk but feel kind of odd walking on my own as big as I am.
Better yet the dog is an 11 month old cane corso. So I get to help a friend out and have a rehab buddy
Anyway, just make sure the dog isn't a puller on leash. The type of breed and the fact that it's 11 months tells me that it probably is. Don't want you to fuck yourself up worse. These types of dog are amazingly strong.

Because I'm not sickOriginally posted by Bouncer View PostHow about you ask your doctor instead of a bunch of internet assholes? We wouldn't know our ass from our elbows.
It's just a protocol type question, the kind if thing people might know about on here.
I've hardly ever been operated on so not much clue

Damn I missed this thread. Get well soon bro!
I had some medical stuff going on this week as well. I had another upper GI scoping this week since last time they found abnormal motility disorder and extra waviness in my esophogous. They prescribed me a PPI for 6 weeks and rescoped and rebiopsied to see if there is improvement. If it is improved they want to do a surgery on the valve at the top of my stomach so I don't have to be on medicine forever. If it isn't improved then I have a possible food allergy that if it can't be found and removed from my diet then I have to be on an oral steroid like prednisone forever. Not ideal at all so hopefully the PPI is repairing it and it is all due to reflux.
