ok, i can respect that. it is your right to feel that way. but it is also rado's right to have that avatar is it not?Originally posted by FitnessBratI really don't, honestly. Of course I've heard/seen Bush jokes, but I just don't think they are funny. I don't think anyone has to like him (or whoever holds the title), but I have always shown respect for whomever is in office. I'm not vocal like BB, but personally speaking, I do think it's incredibly disrespectful.

My position is that the President has my respect the day he assumes office. After that day, he will either go down or up in my opinion depending on what he does. And Bush has done so much damage to America domestically and internationally that I frankly don't have much respect for him. And when Jan 20, 2009 rolls around, the new President, whoever she may be (:)) will have my complete and total respect but starting that day, it is what she does that will dictate if she remains worthy of my respect or not.

babyblues, i think you would have to agree though. one thing that makes this country great is the fact that people can do and say what they want to a certain degree. that old saying kinda works here, "I may disagree with what you say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it." Rado does have a right to say it. As dumb as he may sound, I dont think you want to live in a country that prevents people from saying anything.

That's most of your problem. You actually can't argue/debate/conversate with anyone without resorting to this kind of thing. I don't expect you to agree, but I do expect that you can at least explain your position. If you can't, than why do you even have one? It's the attitudes behind why you posted the avatar that are disturbing. So you don't like him, so what? You don't have to flaunt it. I think you post stuff like that just to get a rise out of people. Well, you didn't get a rise out of me, but I did voice my disappointment over your disrespect. It's something I see alot of and it's disturbing.Originally posted by radolol...I love it...Because why? I choose not to fucking argue/debate/conversate with you or anyone else because of the fucking avatar? Please...Why am I explaining myself to you or anyone else for that matter....Fuck that...If I don't like him; so be it...You going to loose sleep over it?

my feelings exactly. i respect this country and i respect the position of president. i do not however respect the man that is filling that position right now.Originally posted by ScrumhalfMy position is that the President has my respect the day he assumes office. Well I'm just saying that newspapers and magazines have been publicly publishing these type images for like a century. How can you say someone doesn't have the right to talk negatively about the president or even make fun of him?Originally posted by babybluesI don't like those either, but there's nothing I can do about that.

Freedom of speech has already been discussed on here before, so I won't repeat all that, but again, I think there's a difference between disagreeing with each other and calling your neighbor an ass and calling your President an ass. To me, there's a pretty defined line between disagreeing and using names that are just plain disrespectful. That's all I'm trying to say.Originally posted by THE BOUNCERbabyblues, i think you would have to agree though. one thing that makes this country great is the fact that people can do and say what they want to a certain degree. that old saying kinda works here, "I may disagree with what you say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it." I think we're talking about apples and oranges at this point, rado.Originally posted by radoI can see to a certain extent where he's coming from...But I am not going to be changing my views because someone is offended by it...We are allowed to say what we want; period.
Was Imus out of line for saying what he did? I don't think he was; but most will...Now with that said...How come it's ok for the music industry to call women bitches and hoe's, yet Imus says one thing, and it's wrong?
This is why I can't stand rap/hip hop shit...Yet they play that garbage all day...

Oh, sure, there's always negative talk about the President. But I've just seen more stuff lately that I think has crossed the line.Originally posted by The_GrinderWell I'm just saying that newspapers and magazines have been publicly publishing these type images for like a century.
