here is a tip, never try to advance against an enemy who has the high ground.. :weights:
My point is simple. Your tip is flawed.
"Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more. "

my tip is flawed? tell that to the confederate army who advanced on the north who had taken the high ground and mowed them down as they were literally running up the hill. lol. maybe they should have followed those "flawed guidelines" that say NEVER ADVANCE AGAINST AN ENEMY WHO HAS TAKEN THE HIGH GROUND.Originally posted by Kayak Jones View PostMy point is simple. The Battle of Hamburger Hill was a battle of the Vietnam War which was fought between the United States and South Vietnam and North Vietnamese forces from May 10–20, 1969. Although the heavily fortified Hill 937 was of little strategic value, U.S. command ordered its capture by direct assault.
The battle was primarily an infantry affair, with the U.S. Airborne troops moving up the highly sloped hill against well entrenched troops. Attacks were repeatedly repelled by weather, friendly fire, accidents, and especially the highly effective Vietnam People's Army (PAVN) defenses. Nevertheless the Airborne troops took the hill through direct assault, causing extensive casualties to the PAVN forces.
"No matter how tough the job is, the American soldier gets the job done. He might hate the hell out of it, but he never quits. In Hamburger Hill, they might have grumbled, but my God they were there when the chips were down. They eventually went up that hill and took it!"---Colonel Joseph B. Conmy, Jr., Commander of 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division

go back and read the thread, i don't give a shit about any other point or war other then to prove the north's superiority to the south. stop quoting Patton and talking about Vietnam to try and make yourself feel better about your shitty ancestors and their lack of heart or knowledge to beat the yanks! :weights:Originally posted by Kayak Jones View PostI guess somebody forgot to tell these guys , huh.

He also lied to the north, they thought they were fighting to keep the states together, when the soliders of the north found out the were fighting for emancipation as well they turned their guns back at the north.
