There were only 3 americans on flight 370 and after those two weeks there wasn't much in regards to new information. Even though it may have not been the top story, they still covered it.

Ebola has trickled in with regards to the dangers to American's. And the key difference is a missing flight poses zero potential danger to other Americans. Ebola obviously has a lot of information and new developments as well as poses danger to the whole country.
