And how could you not laugh at his behavior! I always laugh at Zorro and then the kids say "see, this is why he's bad - he sees you laugh!"

I love it. He is bigger than my boxer/English Mastiff, but mine has such a similar personality and she makes those same sounds.

We should have a dog thread to post fun pics of our dogs or other fun stuff like the video.

Shows that dogs definitely know when you mean business or when you're just a push over.

I tell people all the time that visit our home that if they get Duke wound up and want him to stop they need to tell him No, sit, go lay down, etc with conviction and authority. If you don't he will just keep playing. They think they will offend me or hurt his feelings so they're real nice and soft spoken "no Duke", " ok that's enough", lol

They're big kids that play dumb but are far from it.

STONE RIDGE, N.Y. (WABC) -- The new rookie at one New York police department is breaking old stereotypes. It's a pit bull terrier, a dog bred for fighting and often in the news for its aggressive behavior.

But female Kiah, weighing in at a muscular 60 pounds, will soon be a valuable addition to the police force, fighting crime in the city of Poughkeepsie.

When she graduates on Friday from the canine training school in Stone Ridge today, Kiah will be one of just a few pit bull terriers to serve as a police dog.

German shepherds and Belgian Malinois are the breeds most commonly employed as police and military dogs, trained to chase and detain suspects, or to find drugs, cadavers and missing people. Rarely is a pit bull called to duty.

Kiah will be serving the Poughkeepsie Police Department to detect drugs and track missing people. She's also a goodwill ambassador for her breed.

"(If the dog has) the energy to use her nose and want to please her handler and do that working job, it doesn't matter what breed it is," her handler, police officer Justin Bruzgul, said.

Kiah was found in a Texas animal shelter after her previous owner was arrested for animal cruelty. She was given to the police, thanks to a partnership between San Antonio-based charity Universal K9, and Animal Farm Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Dutchess County that works to ensure "equal treatment and opportunity" for pit bulls.

"It's about leveling the playing field, it's about proving once and for all that the dogs labelled 'pit bull' can do all the things that the dogs not labelled 'pit bull' can do," Stacey Coleman, Animal Farm Foundation's Executive Director, explained.

Not trying to be a dog nazi because those pics are great, but those are Staffordshire Bull Terriers. They average about 35lbs so roughly half the size. I think they should be renamed miniature pit bull because that's pretty much what they are.

They are allowed in England whereas pit bulls are banned.

Here's my question though. Why did it take $4000 worth of donations to get it done? Why wouldn't a VET do it for free and than take all the positive news and good reputation as free advertisement. Would be a win win I'd think. I would certainly start going to a VET that is known for helping animals in need for free.

Maybe she needed special braces/tools the vet didn't have? I have a friend that's a vet and she loves animals more than anyone, but she is also struggling. She doesn't make a lot of money, so she wouldn't be able to afford to go out and purchase all the supplies needed, even if she did donate her time.

That and with ALL the animals that need help, they can't help them all for free I guess. :dunno:
