  • Samsung has great hardware. The camera is fantastic. I can't stand their software though. I don't have any idea about their new phones and maybe things are better, but at least in my experience, their software was slower and laggier than HTC, which in turn was not as good as Moto.

Do you have always on OK Google? Do you have Android 6.01? Do you even understand what that means?

Weird defensive attitude over me enjoying my new phone.

The point is this, you are just now getting technology that I've had for a year if not longer.

So your comparing your newer phone to my old Nexus 5 or my new 5x? At the time my Nexus 5 was better than your phone in the same way that the 5x is better than your current phone. If you get a phone in a year that phone will have more features than my 5x. It's very simple.

                • It's not just the tech but the implementation. Maybe it's the engineer in me but I like slim and light implementations that I can enhance as i go along versus bloated messes that I cannot prune even if I wanted to.

The support from Google alone is huge. Nexus is "the Google phone". When Google builds an OS they are doing so on Nexus devices first and foremost. We get the latest and fastest updates while other manufacturers takes months and even years to update their phone. We will have Android cheesecake/android N (next Android OS) literally months and months before Samsung or anyone else gets updated. Nexus is priority number 1 for the Google mobile eco system. Nexus is exactly as Google intends Android to be.

Credit to Rado though, the Nexus 5x isn't organic. I'll give him that.

                        • I'll probably port out of Fi and back to AT&T this weekend. Fi works great but it's cheaper for me to be on the family plan.

                          • You gonna use 2 phones or what?

                            • No, my son will use my old line.

                              Here's my situation.

My wife's phone and my old phone line on the Moto X whjch my son plans ti use are on AT&T mobile share plan. It costs $100/mo. for 15 GB of data plus $15 per line. My company has a 26% discount deal with AT&T that applies to the data, so the two lines cost me 74+30 or $104. If I port my new Fi number also to this shared plan I will only pay $15 more for an additional line and share the 15 GB which should be more than enough for the 3 lines.

If I stay on Fi, it would cost me 104+30, so it doesn't make sense for me.
