Doesn't federal law trump state law? How does that work. Can the federal government say "if you California punish businesses that aid federal agents we the US government will punish you"?

So I know private employers and some government agencies are not required to use e-verify to confirm the residency status of employees prior to or during employment. But it’s a federal law that an employer verify residency status of all applicants, meaning they can use other means other than e-verify which is less reliable. Also, the most recent immigration bill limits whether a state police officer can inquire about someone’s immigration status and whether any information related to someone’s immigration status can be disclosed to federal officers.

So... if a business calls the police about an illegal immigrant employee, the state police (who would likely respond) can report them and a penalty will be applied?

It's a beautiful state and there are many things to love about the state itself. But the state government is getting a bit extreme for my taste. I like common sense balance. I don't want an extreme right wing state nor do I want an extreme left wing state. I don't understand why middle ground common sense and personal accountability seems to be disappearing. To add. Within hours of the Vegas shooting Hilary went on Twitter and said "imagine if the shooter had been using a suppressor". She was pushing her political agenda to stop and ban all suppressors. here is where we are..

I have to work to pay bills..in order to have my job..I'm suspect to random drug testing. this allows me to pay taxes..that are used to help people who do drugs and don't work but say their rights are violated if you drug test them for their welfare and food stamps. gee..that makes perfect sense..

I'm required to have ID to prove who I am..to work and pay taxes vote.

If I want to by alcohol or tobacco or gun or to get a loan for a car etc I have to show ID to prove who I am.

Now..the same person who shows his ID to buy alcohol/ smokes, who drives up in a nice new clean car..says your violating his rights..if he has to show ID to vote...he don't have any ID..its too hard to get your discriminating against him gee..that makes perfect sense...

dude...according to scrum, he actually believes they don't want to destroy the 2nd..hes being foolish..he's stated that several times..I cant///refuse to believe hes that blinded. they would love to do just that. They'd make some fucken argument about a innocent guy with only a knife was killed by a evil "assult military style black rifle". They'd tell the media my red dot was an "assult laser like sniper scope". Then they'd mention the perfectly legal green or red tip ammo I have as "armor piercing military style rounds"... Fuck sake.
