There is no mainstream opinion on the left that wants a repeal of the 2nd amendment. A repeal of an amendment is next to impossible to achieve, think about it, particuarly on an issue like gun ownership where there is a lot of gray, unlike say something like slavery, which was really an open and shut issue. The right's favorite whipping boy, Obama, was in power for 8 years and people were screaming hoarse on how he was going to take away everyone's guns, and nothing happened.Originally posted by Bouncer View PostMany on the left want the 2nd amendment gone and guns are regulated.
The whole idea that the left is going to repeal the 2A and take away everyone's guns is another strawman that the NRA has tried to push. It is part of their extremist agenda and the only thing it does is to prevent rational debate on how best to tackle gun violence which remains a major health issue in this country.

Of course you can find "many" on either side who want crazy shit. I think many on the left want more regulations than there are now but many also like Obama believe in the 2nd Amendment.Originally posted by Bouncer View PostMany on the left want the 2nd amendment gone and guns are regulated.
Since you like the automobile analogy are you OK with mandating gun owners purchase liability insurance?

Nobody wants to ban automobiles, but they do want to regulate their safety, regulate who is allowed to drive them, and regulate the fact that you need insurance in case you hurt someone with it. This is equivalent to "gun control". Nobody wants to ban cars, and most even on the left don't want to ban guns either, but they do want to regulate them (semi-auto, magazine capacity, age restrictions, background checks, insurance?, etc...)

I mentioned early that my conservative friend from TX whom I grew up with came to visit me and wanted to bring the gun on our short hike, but anyways he was going on and on about Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation and how she used that foundation to make millions of dollars from foreign nations in return for speaking engagements. I told him I can't really debate this, because I don't know much about it so I'll take his word for it and he told me to watch some documentary called Clinton Cash.
Well, I watched it and I was pretty outraged and disgusted and sided with him on this. Then, instead of taking it at face value I chose to spend a day and do some deep research and guess what? It's a public charity and EVERYTHING, including the money coming in and going out is on public record. 90% of every dime taken in actually went to legitimate charities. 10% went to "Administrative Tasks". On top of that we have 30 years of Hillary Clinton's tax returns to look through which are also public record to prove this since she actually released them prior to running for office (unlike Trump).
A 50+ year old would be more likely to take this 'Clinton Cash' documentary at face value. A 16 year old would do the type of deep research I did to find out the truth.
In this regard, the 16 year olds are going to save us.

I'll give Scrum one thing. Thanks to the internet the younger generation is more informed that most people over 50. Instead of just listening to talking points, they actually look at the data, they look at statistics. Percentage wise a 16 year old is more likely to have more complete information on something like global warming because they actually look at and understand the data and how it works, while a 50 year old just hears Rush Limbaugh on AM radio telling them that Al Gore created the hoax of Global Warming and just go with that instead of actually trying to understand it.
In this regard, the 16 years olds will indeed save us.

Why? It means socially aware. How is that racist? Just because it came from black vernacular and crossed over to mainstream usage? The origin of the word not pure enough for you or something?Originally posted by lipripper View Postracist as fuck...but enjoy:thumup:

Nobody said literally. It's just an expression. The sooner the voting and decsion making shifts away from old people to those who really have a stake in how the country evolves over the next 50 to 75 years, the better. That's what I meant. This isn't The Giver here. I am not advocating for anyone to get "retired," so don't worry.Originally posted by lipripper View Postso you should die for the betterment of our country? you ready to do that? leave your family..kids? listen to yourself scrum? your loosing it dude... Chadd, you're afraid. Want to know how I know this?Originally posted by Chadd77 View PostI was brought up around guns. Almost all of my family members own and carry a firearm. Even my sister carries. It's second nature to me. Never once have I thought about carrying out of fear. Actually the complete opposite. I'm sure for a liberal like yourself that was not brought up around firearms, it is hard to understand. Yes, we all know you shot your dads bb gun one time. lol We get it no need to repeat that story. I bet most guys on here that own and carry would also agree they do not carry because they are afraid. But again like B said the media will try and spin that idea to meet their political agenda.
I would recommend all of you to read the book, 'Sapiens' it goes into depth about how our ancestors lived. It all started in Eastern Africa and we developed fear because we were not on top of the food chain. We were regularly hunted by lions and other apex predators. Those of us who survived developed a sense of fear and..... Anxiety.
Phenibut is an anti-anxiety drug. People who walk around with daily Anxiety are drawn to this drug. They can't sleep at night without it as their mind is racing, they can't relax or make it through the day without it. Mind is racing with fear. Chadd you've openly admitted on this very board that you take this drug daily and that you absolutely cannot sleep without it.
Scoreboard mother fucker.
Here is the Post where you admit this:
