tell me which option you would choose rado.

wait 2 months for the specialist that your primary referred you to. or wait 10 days for a different specialist and have the primary change over the referral that day or next.

correct. and all he has to do is call his primary and tell him he found a specialist who has an opening in 10 days and he would rather go there. he would have the new referral that day. thus my point of not waiting around.

you obviously misunderstood the field for all those years.

a primary care doctor cannot force you to see one specialist over another if they both specialize in the same thing and one has an opening sooner then the other.

he already has the referral to see a certain kind of specialist. there is more then 1 of that kind of specialist on his insurance plan. the doctor cannot dictate who you see. all he has to do is tell his doctors office to write the referral to the specialist that he chooses.

why do you people keep saying "call the doctor to find another one". YOU DON'T NEED THE DOCTOR.

the doctor will only refer him to the closest specialist and call it a day. he has the option to go online or call his insurance company to get a full list of specialist under his insurance plan.

if he is searching a 100 mile radius like he said he was there are probably 100 specialist between boston and NYC.

art of war, YOU DO NOT NEED TO "TELL THE DOCTOR" TO SEARCH THE 100 MILE RADIUS. You can easily look for yourself.

maybe thats the issue then. in nj/nyc i have never had to wait anywhere close to the time frame thet are telling him.

hell, i saw my primary, saw a surgeon, had an MRI, went back to the surgeon to read the MRI, and scheduled the surgery all in the course of 7 days. surgery was 10 days after that.

the way art of war makes it sound, it would have taken him 5 months to do all that.
