Ok So I have to admit I didnt read this entire thread but I have seriously been considering this. Some time ago I had a place of my own and went cableless. I had an antenna for local stations and primarily used Hulu for my TV show viewing. I was not paying for anything. I had to watch my non locally broadcast shows a day after they were broadast but I didnt care much about that.
I attached my laptop via hdmi cable (i believe) to my tv and frankly I was fine with it.
Now I am back with family and have 2 children in the mix. A 9 year old and a 4 year old and cable is definitely ripping us off to the tune of $128/month. Given the fact that I have a family with young children who obviously like their TV (nickelodeon and disney are their 2 fav networks) anyone have some suggestions for my best option to once again drop the cable yet still keep the peace at home with the kids?

You can watch anything online for free. Name a show or movie and I can show you 5 places that its free to stream.
Know this though. It is not convenient like cable or Sat is. Its not all listed out for you in a convenient guide. You have to search for the programming etc..

Amazon Prime May Get TV Channels
Amazon Prime Instant Video can already connect you with a lot of network and broadcast TV favorites, but it may no longer be content to offer that kind of eclectic selection. One report suggests that Amazon may be preparing to offer full channels via its streaming service, and its first target might be CBS.
