ATT is doing it now again too if you are also a direct TV customer however tethering is not included. Personally I get more use with tethering than the extra data.

The fingerprint reader kicks ass. Fast as hell. Don't know how I survived without it, punching in a code every time.

hows battery life?

At least as good if not better than my Moto X. I used it all day and didn't have to plug it back in until late evening when it was down to about 20%. Don't expect any problems lasting throughout the day.

Nexus 5 original is at 5% by 5pm with normal use. if I unplug it at 8am. Terrible.

OK, here are my thoughts so far.

Service is good, no problems at all. That being said, I'm not sure it is for me.

I think the service is great for someone who has just one line and doesn't use too much CELLULAR data. I think you will without question save money.

For families with multiple lines, chances are that you won't save much if anything using Fi. Here's what happened yesterday. I got a letter recently from AT&T that they are raising the prices on my grandfathered unlimited data plan. So, I went into the AT&T store and I convinced them to allow me to drop one line and move the other 2 lines to a mobile share plan that shares 15GB. I get a pretty hefty 26% discount on the plan cost through work, so with 2 lines (my wife and son), it comes out to $104+taxes. Every additional line only costs $15, so if I were to move my Fi number back to the same shared plan, I will only add an other $15, which is less than the lowest Fi monthly rate. And 15GB should be plenty for us - we rarely go over 5-6GB even with heavy usage.

So, at the end of the month, I think I'm going to port out of Fi. At least, thats what I am thinking. Whew, that took a whole two days to decide lol...

Definitely. I haven't seen any problems around town yet. 4 bars or higher everywhere and LTE. I'm going to keep it for a bit, least for a week or so before doing anything. If you decide that Fi is not for you, if you cancel within 15 days you can return the phone and get a refund, or keep the phone. Choice is yours. I think I'll just end up keeping the phone. Even though I was tempted by the Moto X pure, I don't want to pay an extra 100 bucks for it. And that phone is even bigger. The 5X is already at the upper end of size for me.

Plus, having gotten used to the fingerprint sensor, I don't think I can go back to a phone without one. It's that good.

Yep. Fingerprint sensor is great in a phone. I know it is easy to spoof, but much better and seamless vs a passcode. Love it on my iPhone.

Scrum does the phone charge faster than other phones you've used?

It is very fast, because of USB C. I didn't time it because I usually set it to charge when I go to bed.

Anything you don't like about the phone or Fi? Downsides of anything? Compared to your other phone, is the 5X lacking anything?

At this point, I can't think of anything bad about it.

You may want to read up on the battery life. I saw some complaints online but I don't know what people want. For me, I am rarely away from a charger, either at home, at work or in the car, so my phone is always plugged in if I am stationary at any of these 3 locations. I almost never dip below 25%, and with USB C, 20 min of charging gets you a ton of charge.

As far as the service is concerned, I have not found any coverage issues so far. It's been 4 bars or more everywhere in the city. Coverage should not be an issue for you since you are using Sprint already.

The only thing that I don't like is purely psychological. On my unlimited plan, I would just pull out the phone and browse, check mail, etc. all the time. If I had 5 minutes of spare while waiting for something to happen, I would pull out my phone (granted, sociologists may not find that very social behavior).

Now, with Fi, I am constantly wondering, ok, how much is this browsing session going to cost me in terms of MBs. Do I really need to check mail for the 20th time this hour? And see if anybody has posted on SM, even though I just checked 10 min ago? :) It is psychological, because that stuff doesn't cost much in terms of MBs, and you pay either way, either up front in the case of a traditional carrier, or by the MB in the case of Fi, but it is definitely curbing my phone use when outside WiFi range. Maybe that's a good thing. :)
