I will most certainly rather face a threat from someone from a gun than a knife.

Psychology of the attacker is one reason. The person with the knife is not afraid to get personally involved in the attack... it is a much more brazen weapon that takes little skill, and some agression to be fatal.

A gun can miss, a gun can jam, I can grab a gun, as long at the barrel is pointed away from me, I have considerably reduced my chanced of casuality.

With a knife....... not so much. If I choose to engage, Im going to get cut. Even with all my training.... I WILL GET CUT.

ever seen anyone that has had just a few minutes experiance shooting an ak? there is a reason why it is used by almost terror group etc,, around the world. even at the hands of a child with little experience the ak is far more lethal then any other gun. hell you shoot that thing for an hour or so and you are a fucken expert.
